I have a close friend who found herself in financial trouble, she has had her own small business for many years and was paying her bills and mortgage always on time..
Then everything fell apart! She lost her business and started looking for a job, she only found a part time job which in no way covered all of her bills let alone her monthly mortgage! She tried to work with her mortgage company, but they would not work with her at all to try to do a "Loan Modification." It is not at all true that "They Don't Want Your House" they don't give a hoot and will kick you as soon as possible!
She couldn't make the mortgage payments, she knew she would lose the home she had for over 10 years..
She started looking at lawyers for a way to stay in her home, she even thought about bankruptcy. She was served foreclosure papers and a date for final summary of foreclosure. Her credit was shot and not enough money to even move now.
She met with several different lawyers and most she felt like it was like a cattle call. Line them up and move them through!
Not One Responded when she left a message and asked for them to return her call as she had more questions!
She found another lawyer and he asked her some questions and took the time to listen to her responses, she agreed to meet with him the next day. He took action that very day, before she had even met with him..He already know what was going on when they met the following day and had answers ready for her..No Cattle Call! I went with her to here what he had to say..
He has cancelled the court date for the foreclosure, (Sept.24th) and will keep her in her home for at least 8 months! Or Longer! He said he has kept people in their homes for as long as 18 months.
He charged her a retainer fee of only $1250 and she makes monthly payments to him..Much less than any rental I have ever seen. Easy Payments! Cheaper than filing bankruptcy!
